It all start in a Dorm room of Harvard university by a student, who soon dropped out of college and moved to California to make it big. So big that after 6 years it crossed 500 million users mark.

Now, as we have entered in 2012, Facebook currently have 800 million users worldwide and with the current rate of increasing numbers of users, Facebook is expected to reach 1 Billion users by the end of August 2012. Pretty amazing for a company that started in a hostel room.

The worlds total population is around 7 Billion, which means 1 out of every 7 people on this planet would be on Facebook.

I think that 1 Billion is fancy thing, there are many people who might have got more than 1 account, just like more than 1 email. Also, not everyone would be active on Facebook. But, whatever we say, this stat is enough to value Facebook worth100 Billion dollar.

Despite of being criticised about many things, mainly privacy issues, Facebook have evolved along with time and has become a web in itself. There are many apps that let you do everything inside Facebook, like Watching videos, listening to music or sharing photos by Friends and family.
