How to Search Files in Windows 7 by Date and Size
People who got a hang of Windows XP always miss the option of searching files in Windows 7 by a specific Date and Size.
Searching files becomes easy with the use of Google Desktop, but if you don’t want to use it, here is something you can do to get a better result.
You can Search files by specific date or size or You can use less-than(<) or greater than(>) signs in Windows Explorer Search.
Search by Date

To search files between two dates, Open Windows Explorer and click on the search area, type the keyword you want to search and then click on Date modified to get the calendar open.
Just Click on the date and drag the mouse to any other date you want to search the file in.
You can also use the predefined options you find below the calendar.
If you want to Search before of after a specific date, use < or > in place the first date.
datemodified:<[date] (To search for files before a date)
datemodified:>[date] (To search for files after a date)
Search by Size
Now, if you want to search the file by by Size, just click on the Size option and you get predefined options to search for the file.
Again, if you want to search files greater then or lesser then, use use < or >.
For example,
size:<100MB (Search for all files that are less than 100MB)
size:>100MB (Search for all files that are greater than 100MB).
