Adobe Acrobat is a software which we can never miss due to the large number of PDF files that are available in the Internet.

But having said that, opening PDF files using Adobe Acrobat can be a headache due to the slow loading time. Yes, Adobe Acrobat loads slowly and takes up a lot of system resource and memory.

Hence many people have moved to free PDF viewers that are available in the Internet. But due to the features, Adobe Acrobat Reader still stands on top.

So, whats the way to solve this problem? Well, since loading time is the only problem, performing a simple step can reduce the loading time and increase performance.

Just follow the simple steps below to achieve faster loading time of PDF files in Adobe Acrobat.

Make sure you have closed Adobe Acrobat Reader if open. Else it will lock the files from moving to other directories. Our main objective is to move the Plugins directory to Optional Directory.

Step 1: Go to the program installation folder of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Usually, by default it will be present in the following path:

C:\program files\adobe\reader (it also depends on your software version)

Step 2: Once you reached that path, cut all the files and folders from the Plugins directory (use CTRL + X to cut) and paste it in the Optional directory (use CTRL + V to paste).

Now that you have moved the Plugins Directory, Adobe Acrobat Reader will load lightning fast just like Notepad.

Note: Plugins offer additional features. Moving it to optional directory doesn’t delete them, but limits the features of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
