The Battery Life on Android phone is very less, the reason being its feature of multitasking, which makes several apps run in the background. These apps eat up your Phone battery.

If you own a Galaxy Nexus then this extra battery might help you with the battery issue and if you own any other, then please read on.

Uninstall useless apps

You might have been installing Free apps from the Android Market aggressively, but uninstall the apps which you have stopped using. Apps connect to the internet and use phone’s resources, which take power from the battery.

Avoid using Task Killers

I tried using several Task Killer Apps to kill the apps which run in the background, but I’ve found it doesn’t help as these task killers themselves take a lot of battery.

Use Wi-Fi over 3G

Use Wi-Fi instead of 3G, wherever possible, as it takes less battery than 3G. Also turning the data transmission off, when you are not using internet specific apps, can also save a lot of power.

Brightness of Mobile Display

Android smartphones have got big screen with High Resolution display which requires a lot of power. Decreasing the brightness of your Mobile screen can also help. Few of the apps have got night mode to turn the background Black from white, which also helps a bit.

Turning Off Additional Features

Power users of Android phones might be doing this already, but if you’re not doing it, you can turn off the additional features like Auto Sync, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Apart from above actions, we can’t do much about saving battery on Android phones, maybe in few years we might be getting these batteries which can be charged in few seconds.
