VDownloader, a Windows software to download online videos
Here is another software which you can use on your Windows PC to download videos from the internet. But this time, its not only from YouTube,(You can use KissYouTube for that purpose) but just any website. The name of the software is VDownloader. Its a free software and really simple to use. In fact, there is very little that you need to do. You can Download VDownloader from the official website. Once you do that, you can download your favorite videos from the internet very easily.
One thing which I observed with this software is that if the video is copyright protected, the software refuses to download that video and throws an error. So if you are trying to do something illegal, this is not what you want. Anyway, moving on to the software, once you download the installation file, you will be downloading a small file which then uses the internet to download the actual installation. Around 7.7 MB of file is downloaded.
Once the download and installation is complete, you will get a very simple user interface. Once you see the interface, you will understand how simple the software is to use. You can see at the top of the software, there is a text input area to give the video URL. Here you have to paste the URL of the video from the website.
But as soon as you copy the URL from the video website, you see a message on your taskbar (this is only if VDownloader is running). The message will say that “Video URL copied to clipboard”. This means that if you just copy the URL, the software will automatically grab it and use it for the download. Now you just need to click on the download button in the software.
In the right hand side of the download window, you can see a list for the output format. If you click on the drop down menu, you will see a big list of output formats that the software supports. It is good to see MP3 in the list. Other similar software dont have this feature. You have to download the video first and then use another software to convert it into MP3. But this software avoids you that work. There are other popular formats also which will be very handy.
Once you do all these customizations, click the Download button and you will get a dialogue box asking for the path and the file name for the downloaded file. Specify that and click Ok. Your download will start and you should see the following in your software window. Once this is happening, wait for the download to complete. Then, you can watch the video directly from your computer. Isn’t this very easy?
